Christina/Alon

In The Loch Norim, the focus shifts from Christina, the Amazonian warrior, to the surrounding characters who are growing into their own. Christina -- the Alon -- still has a huge role to play, but you experience the story through Lettern, Rachael, etc., who revere Alon and do not claim such trite familiarity as to call her by her first name.
Still, there is a transition from the closeness and informality with Christina in The Citadel to the aloof Alon in The Loch Norim. People know her as Christina, and now that has to be toned down. It’s not much of a spoiler alert to say Alon has become a hunted woman, and as shown by the demise of Sedge in The Citadel, the only true security is not physical, but secrecy and anonymity. So if she is to be protected from the sycophants, lest we give them clues as to her whereabouts when they are reading the novel, we won’t mention her real name (shhh!).
